In January of 2012 a group of volunteers were inspired to launch a nationwide Christian TV channel that would share the love of God with all of New Zealand. Within a few days, a temporary board and various volunteer teams were established to carry out the work. The name “Firstlight Broadcasting Network” was chosen as New Zealand is one of the first countries to see the light each morning.
